Exclusive for New Scouts and Families

Are you new to Scouting?

Here are some helpful tips to aid you in learning more about our annual Popcorn sale

Hello and welcome to Scouting! You and your family will have a great time as you trek down the path on your Scouting adventure.

There are a lot of new things you are learning about Scouting at this time, and here’s one that may help you and your Scout group with upcoming activities.

Our Popcorn Sale is currently taking place and you can join the effort! Through our annual Popcorn Sale Scouts and their Scout groups raise funds to help with expenses during the year. From helping with meeting supplies to aiding for summer camp, the Popcorn Sale plays a vital role in growing the Scout program.

More than 70 percent of the proceeds stay local with your Scout group and Black Swamp Area Council. Be sure to ask your Scout leader how the sale can benefit you and your new Scout group.

Here are some key areas to know:

  • Fund your entire Scouting year with only 8 hours of fundraising
  • The sale can be completed 100% online
  • You can raise support by just asking your family members and friends with help at home from your adult partner
  • There are a lot of resources available to help you with understanding the sale and how to make your effort successful

Resources to help you with selling popcorn:

Please know, if your Scout group is participating in the “Take Order” portion of the sale, by using the in-person paper “Take Order” form, these will need to be turned into your unit kernel at some point before Oct. 18, which is the date your unit kernel must have the unit order submitted. If your unit is participating in the “Take Order” portion of the sale be sure to get with the unit kernel soon.

Selling Online through the Trail’s End web site can continue for you and your unit beyond the Oct. 18 “Take Order” due date. This is possible because orders are delivered directly to the customer and the online system will credit you and your unit with the appropriate proceeds from each sale.

A lot of care and attention to changing how this fundraiser is conducted has gone into this year's effort from both Black Swamp Area Council and our vendor Trail's End Popcorn. Learn more about changes and implementations to help keep all safe.
