Registration Process

Step 1: Register Online - All youth registrations are completed through the official Scouting America's national website at www.beascout.org

Step 2: Complete Payment - After submitting the online form, you’ll be guided through the secure payment process to finalize registration.

Step 3: Join Your Local Unit - Once registered, your child will be officially connected with a Black Swamp Area Council Pack or Troop in our area. 

Step 4: Stay Connected Locally - Our local council website is your go to resource for everything that happens next in our 13 county area, including:

• Events and activities
• Calendars
• Forms and resources
• Local support

Training & Youth Safety

Youth safety is Scouting America's highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, trusted environment for every Scout.

• Leaders must complete required Safeguarding Youth Training annually
• Parents are strongly encouraged to take the training as well — it’s free, easy to complete, and available at my.scouting.org
• Additional parent training gives families confidence and tools to support a safe, positive Scouting experience

• Your Scout group is part of a caring Scouting community, supported by a chartered organization, dedicated  volunteers and Scouting Professionals.
