2022 Timeline
October 2022
- Unit key 3 begins to review your unit’s roster through www.Scoutbook.com for adults and youth, ensuring youth protection training and leader specific training have been completed by adult volunteers.
- Units not using Scoutbook can access recharter https://advancements.scouting.org/units#council
- Start collecting all new adult and youth applications to those members not registered on your existing roster (a copy of youth protection certificate is needed with any new adult applications). Adult Application Youth Application New members (youth and adult) are encouraged to register online at beascout.org
- Check your District’s Roundtable for potential recharter assistance at October’s meeting, if applicable.
November 2022
- Prepare recharter for final approval. Check your District’s Roundtable for potential recharter assistance at November’s meeting, if applicable.
December 2022:
- Finalize Unit Recharter with turn in and/or recharter assistance at December’s District Roundtable, if applicable.
December 15, 2022
- Deadline for submitting recharter paperwork with final payment.
Training for all programs
Youth Protection Training is REQUIRED for all BSA registered volunteers and is a joining requirement. An adult application will not be accepted without YPT being completed. Find Youth Protection Training HERE! Or at https://www.scouting.org/training/youth-protection/

Important info on adult applications to not miss:
Adult applications require:
- Applicant’s signature
- Charter Organization Representative’s signature
- Applicant’s SSN
- Criminal Background Check page of the adult application.
- Initials beside disclosure statements (if using current application version)
- Questions 1-6 on right hand side of adult application must be fully completed and filled out. If information is not available, then enter N/A to show that it was not missed.
