Lions Program in the Black Swamp Area Council

We had some questions in whether the council will be participating in the pilot Lion program for 2016.

For the 2016 program year, the Black Swamp Area Council is not participating in the Lion pilot program.  The Membership Committee reviewed the pilot earlier in the year and decided that it would be in our best interest to see the results of the test councils associated with the pilot.

Our council serves a little over 10% of the youth available to be in Scouting that are in grades 1-12. Let us continue to ask families, “Have you considered joining Scouting?” and “Come experience Scouting!” to our friends and neighbors as there is a large market who may not know the benefits that Scouting has on youth development and families.     

We appreciate the feedback and will note your interest in regards to having this new program.

The council will reevaluate the pilot Lion program in 2017.
