Extraordinary Explorers
During these challenging times, a ray of positivity could make the difference in someone’s day. Today’s publication will highlight the knowledge gained by Landon Harjala. Landon’s Post Advisor, Julie Kolodziej, said, “Landon always comes to events with a good attitude and a competitive spirit. He carefully thinks through his designs and is great at adjusting throughout the testing phases. He asks well thought-out questions benefiting all the students in the Post.

Currently a junior at Findlay High School, Landon Harjala joined the Exploring program as a freshman. “I had been involved in clubs while I was in junior high and wanted to continue being involved in programs that are helpful to me in my pursuit of an engineering career.”
One of the biggest takeaways from the program for Landon has been the amount of opportunities that are available in the engineering field. “I have learned that there are many different fields of engineering and they each have a wide range of opportunities.”
The Engineering Exploring program is enabling Landon to figure out what is the best fit for him. He’s a great example of how the program allows youth to make more informed decisions about their future. Landon’s favorite activity thus far was the bridge building project, “We were placed in groups to try and build a bridge that could hold the highest amount of weight.”
Landon knows the engineering field is where his calling is, but he’s still working to find the proper fit. “I would like to become an engineer in the future. I am still exploring which type is be best for me because there are so many great options. The Exploring program has helped me understand the engineering field, providing a look into different areas within the career field.”
