The Black Swamp Area Council is proud to announce that long time volunteer and Executive Board Member  Sherri Garner Brumbaugh has been awarded the Silver Antelope Award by Scouting America, one of the organization’s highest honors recognizing exceptional service to youth at the regional or national level.

Presented by Scouting America’s National Court of Honor, the Silver Antelope Award is reserved for registered adult volunteers whose contributions to the Scouting movement have made a significant and lasting impact. Sherri was recognized for her long-standing and passionate involvement with Scouting, both in her local community and on a national scale.

Over the years, Sherri has served in a variety of impactful roles including Den Leader, Troop Committee Chair, Council Board Chair, and currently serves as Vice President of Development for the Black Swamp Area Council as well as Council Service Territory Chair for the region. Her service has helped shape and strengthen the Scouting experience for countless youth and adult leaders.

Sherri’s commitment to Scouting goes far beyond service hours. She truly cares about shaping young lives through leadership, compassion and example. Her impact has inspired youth and adults alike and continues to help build a brighter future for generations to come.

This national honor reflects Sherri’s lifelong dedication to the values of character, citizenship, and leadership. Principles she champions through her work as President & CEO of Garner Trucking and in the broader community.
