In February, families from Pack 302 celebrated their Crossover into the newest Scouts BSA Troop for girls in the area, Troop 302!
Troop 302 is chartered with College First Church of God in Findlay Ohio, and their leader is Tammy Cooper. Tammy has been a leader in the local Scouting for almost 30 years. She started by volunteering to be her son’s Den Leader and has been serving ever since. She has also earned her Wood Badge beads and is a proud Bobwhite. Tammy was awarded the Silver Beaver, the district President’s Award, and the District Award of Merit. The new Troop will be attending summer camp at Camp Berry this July.
One of the new members of Troop 302, Nicholette, earned the Messenger of Peace award in December 2020. She decided to do a special project over the holiday by making and selling pies. She used the money to adopt a family at Christmas!
Pack and Troop 302 have been in Findlay for more than 75 years! In 2019, College First Church of God welcomed them to their organization and became their charter partner. The church has been very excited about the Scouts and all the great work they’ve already been able to do together!
This past Fall, 42 Scouts did 382 hours of community service to help the church serve 188 families from the food bank. This not only helped all those families who needed assistance, but the Scouts were able to earn 353 program Adventures and Merit Badges and earn 48 Rank Advancements.
