Lima grad finds flight with Exploring program

Bryson Dick, a Lima Senior High School graduate, is continuing his education at the University of Oklahoma in Aerospace Engineering.

Bryson was set on the path during his time in the City of Findlay Airport Aviation Exploring program. Even through the pandemic, heremained optimistic to remain in the program to continue learning about the aviation industry. 

Bryson initially became interested in aviation while in school and enjoyed learning about World War II,  the Cold War era, and learning about the air and sky battles that occurred during that time. He was also interested in the new technology that was being utilized in the 1940’s, ultimately sparking his interest in the aviation field and finding a connection in this Exploring program.

Scouting in the Black Swamp Area Council began in 1915 when the Scouting program was introduced to the young people of West Central and Northwestern Ohio.More than 5,400 individuals are participating in the local program as a Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Explorers and adult volunteers.
