Rocket Into Scouting - Great Oaks District

ALL Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop Leaders should have Sept. 8 circled on their calendars! Units will be hosting an opportunity for new families to join Scouts. Units are also reminded on this night parents are expecting to receive a unit calendar, contact sheet for their leaders, and information about the financial commitment for Scouting.

Black Swamp Area Council has purchased rockets through Friends of Scouting dollars to be used as a promotional item for all new Scouts who sign up on Sept. 8, parent orientation guides, yard signs, school fliers, posters, and other items to help promote the upcoming membership sign up night.

Units should be expecting communication from their Field Staff or District Membership Chairs on issues like reservations, boy talk scheduling, and other logistical items.

Units should prepare by having a unit representative attend Aug.11th Membership Kickoff, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Lima Boy Scout Office. Rockets, signup packets, and marketing materials will go out that evening. Making sure a unit calendar and unit contact sheet will be ready to give to families as we deliver the Scouting Program to thousands of new youth across the Council!  Unit commitment form
