Fall Kickoff Event

The Kickoff in Hawthorn will be August 11th at 7pm at the Ottoville Parish Center (also using shelter house directly behind the regular meeting room). This year will be a complete change for our roundtable process. We will have activites planned that might be skills, unique processes, trainings, and will be expansive to both tenured leaders and new leaders. These breakouts will also be designed to directly relate to cub and scout leaders as separate leaders working with separate youth and abilities. We will have experts of certain fields coming in to present things so you can take them back to your unit to have a direct effect on opportunities you are offering. The district committee has put a lot of time into redesigning this so please make sure your unit is taking part in the festivities! Along with all of that we will have a continued focus on youth merit badges and properly administering them during these meetings. Finally, on August 11th remember that is the meeting where each unit brings a popcorn representative, a membership representive, and the unit earns an extra percent of income from the popcorn sale!!! ALSO we will have activities this year at the kickoff for cubs that will include work on Hometown Heros. The committee will be lining up something like a fire truck, police car, K-9 unit or similar. This way the cubs can come, learn, eat, and open up some parents' schedules to make the night work.
