"Summer has come and passed, the innocent can never last. Wake me up when September ends." ~ Green Day

This September has been too fun for me to sleep through! Below are the dates for some upcoming events and information about our recent membership events.

Membership Update

Arrowwood welcomes 225 brand new boys to Scouts! Most of our Units have doubled in size, which means it is the perfect time to grow your adult help, too. Recruit parents to be on your committees and in new leadership positions. If you need help with your first couple meetings please let your commissioner or me know. We are at 56% of our membership goal so we want to keep growing. If you want to schedule a second recruitment night, please contact me so we can get back into schools and get the word out. Please let me know if you have other ideas about locations or dates you’d like to recruit from, I am always open to suggestions.

Recruiter Patch

Did you know that if you help recruit someone to your Pack or Troop you can earn a special recruiter patch? Fill out the form here and turn it in to the office and you will receive a free patch to wear proudly on the sleeve of your uniform.

Roundtables

Roundtable will be at The First Lutheran Church, 109 E. Lincoln Street, Findlay; Thursday, September 21 7-8PM. We will be doing the Collections and Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge. Attention: we are looking for ideas for future Roundtable topics, speakers, and/or merit badge ideas. Please ask your Scouts what would be most interesting to them.

Fall Camporee

This year’s Fall Camporee will be held near the Findlay Reservoir at the old Butternut Farm November 3-5. It will be a traditional scout skill theme with activities such as Blind Square, Minute Measure, Diminishing Load, Height Alignment, Reach for the Sky, Bowline Stroll, Conserve and Observe, Blind Tent Pitch, and Fahrenheit 212. We are still determining price but it will be pretty inexpensive this year because we don’t have to pay to use the property. If you are interested in helping with the planning or volunteering for the event, please contact me.
